Nabji Trek & Trongsa Tschechu

Day 1  Arrive Paro
Arrive Paro. Transfer to the hotel    Afternoon sightseeing. Overnight Paro    (L,D)

Day 2  Paro – Thimphu
Morning drive to Thimphu.  Sightseeing of Thimphu Overnight Thimphu     (B,L,D)

Day 3   Thimphu
Morning sightseeing Thimphu.  Afternoon visit Tango Monastery with a moderate hike through the forest of oak and rhododendron. Overnight Thimphu     (B,L,D)

Day 4   Thimphu – Punakha
Drive to Punakha with the most spectacular views of the high peaks of the eastern Himalayas. Afternoon visit  Wangduephodrang Dzong and Wangdue town. Evening visit a local farmhouse. Overnight Punakha    (B,L,D)

Day 5   Punakha – Trongsa
Drive down the valley to Wangduephodrang and Chendebji. Afternoon continue to Trongsa. Overnight Trongsa   (B,L,D)

Day 6   Riotala – Nimshong (6.5km; 3-4 hours) – Trek Begins
A brief tour through Trongsa Dzong and its Ta Dzong. Drive to Riotala, the start of Nabji Trail. Hike to Nimshong village.   Overnight in Camp   (B,L,D)

Day 7  Nimshong – Nabji (13km; 4-6 hours)
Early visit to the local temple, then hike to Nabji, situated on a foothill above terraced fields of rice. Overnight in Camp.  (B,L,D)

Day 8   Nabji – Halt (9.5-13km; 4-5 hours)
A day hike to Korphu village with breathtaking views.  In the afternoon, hike back to Nabji. Overnight in Camp.  (B,L,D)

Day 9  Nabji – Kubdra (11-14 km; about 5-7 hours)
Trek to Kubdra village, through dense forest with orchid and small bamboos. Overnight in Camp.   (B,L,D)

Day 10   Kubdra – Jangbi (13-14,5km; circa 6 hours)
Hike from Kubdra to Jangbi village with a brief visit to the small village of Phrumzur, tea is prepared in the orchid garden in Jangbi. Overnight in Camp.   (B,L,D)

Day 11   Jangbi – Tongtongfey – Trongsa (7-9.5km; about 3-4 hours) – Trek Ends
A steep descent to the bridge crossing the Mangde Chu; and a last climb to Tongtongfey.  Drive back to Trongsa Overnight Trongsa   (B,L,D)

Day 12  Trongsa – Jakar
Morning festival at Trongsa Tshechu, then drive to Jakar across Yotongla and the valley of Chumey, and Bumthang valleys. Overnight Jakar    (B,L,D)

Day 13   Jakar
Morning sighseeing Jakar.  Afternoon hike to visit Tamzhing temple and Swiss farmhouse. Overnight Jakar   (B,L,D)

Day 14   Jakar – Punakha
Drive to Punakha with stops.Overnight Punakha   (B,L,D)

Day 15  Punakha – Paro
Hike to Khamsum Yuelay Namgyal Choeten, with magnificent view.  Visit Punakha Dzong and Khuruthang town. Drive to Paro. Overnight Paro    (B,L,D)

Day 16   Paro
Day Excursion to Taktshang Monastery, Tiger's Nest.  Overnight Paro     (B,L,D)

Day 17    Departure
Transfer to Paro Airport for your onward destination.
